Charitable Gift Annuities
Charitable gift annuities have been used in the United States for more than 150 years, and they continue to be a very popular method of charitable giving. A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract between a donor and a charity. In exchange for an irrevocable gift of cash, securities or other assets, the charity agrees to pay the donor a fixed sum for their life. The donor receives a tax deduction in the year of the gift, and a portion of the annual income is tax-free.
