Baptist Health Care Foundation proudly celebrates 50 years of service to Baptist Health Care and the communities it serves. Since its founding on August 13, 1975, the Foundation has played a vital role in elevating compassionate care, expanding services, improving technology and strengthening the organizational Mission of helping people throughout life’s journey.

“This anniversary is more than a celebration of the past—it’s a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the community whose unwavering support has made it possible, and a continuation of a legacy that began even before the Foundation was formally established,” said Mark Faulkner, president and CEO, Baptist Health Care. “When Baptist was founded nearly 75 years ago, our leaders cast a bold vision for transforming health care in our region. The community responded with generosity and faith, laying the groundwork for what would become a trusted institution of healing.”

The Foundation’s legacy is deeply rooted in the spirit of our community and team members whose contributions over the years have totaled more than $75 million. Donations to the Foundation support Baptist’s programs and services related to behavioral health, cancer, community health, heart and vascular, speech and hearing, stroke, women’s services, physical rehabilitation, sports medicine outreach and more. The Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026. It is led by women from Baptist Health Care and throughout the area who are dedicated to making a difference in the health of the community.

In 2023, the Foundation completed its largest-ever campaign to benefit the new Baptist Hospital campus at Brent Lane. Through philanthropic giving, the Foundation continues its fundraising efforts to elevate the organization’s locations, expand services, improve technology and deliver compassionate care.

In addition to efforts to support patient care, the Foundation’s Helping Hands giving program is supported by Baptist Health Care team members who consistently demonstrate a steadfast commitment to one another and to the broader community.

“I am grateful to every Foundation donor for their passion and commitment to our Mission,” said Heather Moorer, director, Baptist Health Care Foundation. “It’s incredible to see the Foundation’s impact on our organization, our team members and our patients over the last 50 years, and we look forward to continuing our legacy for the next 50 years.”
