Please share why you became a Women's Board member. Why is Baptist important or special to you?
I became a Women's Board member because of the incredible warmth and kindness I experienced from the Foundation team over the years. Long before I was ever on the board, they always greeted me with a smile no matter what was going on. That kind of consistent positivity and support really stood out to me. It made me think, "Wow, I'd love to be a part of something like this." Now that I'm on the other side, working alongside these amazing women, I can honestly say they're just as genuine and wonderful as I imagined. It's truly an honor to be part of this powerhouse group – or as our president lovingly calls us, this great girl gang. Baptist is incredibly special to me. I've spent over 20 years of my career here, so professionally, it has shaped who I am. But it's more than just a workplace - it's family. In October 2024, I unexpectedly lost my mother. That was one of the hardest moments of my life. The love and support I received from my Baptist family during that time was overwhelming in the best way. They were there for me, not just as co-workers, but real, true family. I could never repay the kindness they showed me during that season, and I'll never forget it.
What would you like Women's Board members to know about you — your experience, background, education and family?
I have been a proud part of the Baptist Health Care team since 2002. I work as a physician liaison and continuing education professional, where I coordinate provider events, workshops and courses designed to help health care professionals continue growing in their knowledge and skills. I truly believe in the power of lifelong learning and hope the programs I help organize contribute to better outcomes for both patients and communities. Outside of work, I'm the proud mom of my 8-year-old son, Caleb – the joy of my life. I spend much of my time outside of work just loving on him and enjoying every moment of motherhood. He keeps me grounded, smiling and focused on what matters most.
Please share a moment or experience that you, a friend, or loved one experienced as a Women’s Board member.
One of the most meaningful parts of being on the Women's Board has been participating in our annual fashion show – not just because it's fun and fabulous, but because of what it represents. The funds we raise go directly back to Baptist Health Care, supporting initiatives that truly matter. A couple of years ago, we were able to purchase special playground equipment for our behavioral health unit. Last year, our efforts provided mammograms for individuals without access or insurance. Those are life-changing impacts. It makes me proud to be part of a group that not only raises awareness but also takes real, tangible action to support our community.
