Please share why you became a Women’s Board member. Why is Baptist important or special to you?
I joined the Women’s Board because I wanted to be part of a team that doesn't just talk about community support – they actually build it. In Pensacola, there are few organizations with a bigger heart than Baptist Health Care, but it’s their action that really sets them apart.
From helping provide mammograms to constructing playgrounds for children in need, they make things happen. I became a member to contribute to this powerhouse group and help ensure that access to quality health care remains a cornerstone of our community.
What would you like Women’s Board members to know about you – your experience, background, education and family?
Three decades in marketing have taught me many things, but none more important than the value of building genuine, lasting relationships. Professionally, I’ve spent more than three decades in advertising and marketing, learning how to find innovative solutions to help businesses succeed. I hold an MBA and a master’s in human resource management, but what truly makes me tick is community advocacy.
This passion for advocacy stems from a deep commitment to education and mentorship – serving on boards like United Way of West Florida and the Pensacola State College Foundation because I believe in opening doors and creating paths to success for everyone in our community. Personally, I have been married to my husband since 1997, and as we navigate the milestone of our son heading off to UCF, I am looking forward to this next chapter and the new connections I'll make with this group.
Please share a moment or experience that you, a friend or a loved one experienced as a Women’s Board member.
Baptist Health Care and the Foundation's commitment to providing mammograms for individuals without insurance is deeply personal, as I lost my aunt to breast cancer. I strongly believe every woman deserves the opportunity for a screening, regardless of her financial situation – it saves lives.
I am inspired by the fact that through the Mammogram Fund, Baptist has provided screenings to more than 3,000 patients over the last 15 years, leading to more breast cancer diagnoses and enabling early treatment. It’s a powerful testament that the Women's Board doesn't just raise money – they ensure access to critical, life-saving care.
