Meet Foundation Board Member and Community Leader, Pam Caddell

Please share why you became a Baptist Foundation board member. Why is Baptist important or special to you?
I am one of six girls that were born at Baptist. My parents were always a part of Baptist in one way or another. My mother volunteered at the hospital for 25 years. My father served on several boards and felt we should support Baptist any way we could. My sister and I were volunteers known as candy stripers (back in the day) while in high school. My grandson was born at Baptist. I love the feeling that I can contribute to something much bigger than myself.
What would you like Baptist team members to know about you—your experience, background, education and family?
My family was raised in this community, and all six of us girls began our higher education at Pensacola Junior College (now Pensacola State College). After further studies and obtaining a degree in engineering, I was given the opportunity to move back to Pensacola. I had no way of knowing God’s plan for me, but I believe Baptist was part of that plan.
Please share a Baptist Way moment or experience that you, a friend, or a loved one experienced at Baptist.
My husband had a heart attack several years ago and his Baptist doctor was the one that strongly encouraged him to visit the Gulf Breeze Hospital ER quickly. Needless to say, 24 hours later, he had 3 stints in his heart and was healthier than ever. The staff and cardiology department were attentive to his needs, and we will always be grateful for that.
