PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Established in 1976, the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation has, for almost three decades, provided consistent support for the community through its commitment to health care initiatives. From the first meeting chaired by President Jane Pace with 25 ladies in attendance to today’s organization consisting of over 175 members, the Women’s Board has raised more than $1.5 million in support of various health care programs. Through the efforts of this organization consisting of dedicated volunteers, the quality of health care has been improved for the entire community, and much needed care has been provided to people in need who lacked the ability to pay.
These dedicated women sponsor 2 major fund-raising events each year. The Stepping Out In Style Fashion Show has become the premiere fashion event for the area. Their soon to be launched speaker series, “An Evening With……” will feature high-profile personalities to the community to address informative and entertaining topics.
Through the years, the Women’s Board has raised funds for specific programs including, Cancer, Trauma, Diabetes, and the Children’s Center at Lakeview. Knowing that the needs of the community go far beyond the walls of Baptist Health Care, they have also provided assistance to Hospice, Grant-A Wish, and other local non-profits.
Through the combined efforts of hundreds of women performing thousands of hours of volunteer service over a period of time spanning almost thirty years, the people of Northwest Florida and South Alabama have had access to better health care, and as a result, a better quality of life.
