Baptist Health Care foundation creates endowed Nursing scholarship at Pensacola Junior College

Hospitals are only successful when quality nurses are present. One startling statistic estimates that by the year 2020, over 44 states will be experiencing a devastating shortage of nursing professionals.

To combat the critical shortage of nurses in the health care field, Baptist Health Care Foundation has endowed a nursing scholarship at Pensacola Junior College. This scholarship will include tuition and supplies for the 2 year program. A full scholarship will be awarded every year.

Many friends of Baptist Health Care Foundation were instrumental in this achievement, including Eleanor McGee, Dr. Charles White, Patricia Douglas and her family, the Liggett family and the Haller family. Their generous support through memorial scholarships honoring loved ones will ensure that quality nurses are continually present to provide quality care. The mission of Baptist Health Care Foundation is to secure philanthropic resources to meet the health care needs of our community. To achieve its mission, the Foundation focuses on three core areas: community health, new technology and best people. The Foundation is funded through the generosity of friends, physicians and employees.
